Alpha
Kappa Lambda's National History: A Lasting, Powerful Story.
Nearly a century ago, a group of young men in California
founded the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Lambda. Social fraternities,
especially non-secretive ones, came and went during that time, but they
persisted. Their motto? Alethia Kai Logos or, The Truth
And The Word. Based on the Five Ideals they
established themselves as the first and foremost fraternity in the entire
West Coast, and through thick and thin, chapters started sprouting all over the
map, each as successful as the next.

How
Long Has AKΛ Existed at BSU?
Back when the words "Gamma Theta Chapter at Boise State" were
but a pleasurable fantasy, an interest group with a small but dedicated group of
young men started it all from scratch. In a campus dominated by
non-traditional students and off-campus living, few could imagine a fraternity
could thrive, let alone develop. Interest group turned into Idaho Beta
Colony; a few years later and a few more good men gave way to a larger
membership, and an official chartering was daily coming closer to reality.
Finally, that day arrived in the Spring of 2003.
