Members of Alpha Kappa Lambda share a
mutual commitment to sustain strong friendships and live their lives
with principle. Friendship is often used in describing one of the benefits
of fraternity membership because the
fellowship of a fraternity is the intangible part that members remember
most. This friendship is evidenced by
an attitude toward others, an offer to help in a time of need, to listen
to another's concerns, a compliment for a
job well done, or the support of a chapter project. To the men of AKL,
this is why we are a fraternity.

Alpha Kappa Lambda opposes all forms of
hazing, and has consequently committed to a program of fraternity
education that is an educationally and socially maturing process.
Therefore, a Pledge Bill of Rights was adopted
by AKL that entitles a pledging member to refuse to participate in any
activity which he feels will endanger his
physical and/or mental health, violate any local, state, or federal law,
involve the use of alcohol, and/or violate
his moral or religious convictions.
